The recent Excellence East summer school was significantly oversubscribed with almost double the number of suitable applicants as places. All those who were not allocated places were invited to a one-day event on “Science and Society”, held last Thursday at the Department of Engineering.

The high profile educational charity Teach First held its first ever residential summer school for children at the University of Cambridge last week. A total of 70 students from 23 London schools spent three and a half days taking part in a range of academic and social activities at St Catharine’s College.
